(More customer reviews)The Alpine CDE-125BT system is a great stereo for the price. One thing that I think is absolutely necessary, is the addition of the KTP-445 booster. They make the upgrade installation of the booster, the simplest I have ever seen in automotive stereo systems. With quality speakers, the boost is a must. The power pack can be tucked away under the dash, and does not have to be secured by anything more than cable ties. I secured mine with screws as the installation was in a boat, near a stringer of wood behind the dash.
I don't know about the phone portion, as I do not talk as I drive, or steer a boat in my case.
The KCE-433iv cable for adapting the IPOD, being an "extra option" is not fair, but you can get that on Ebay for $6 with free shipping from Hong Kong.
Anyway, I installed this in my boat because I liked the USB, and IPOD capabilities that should solve the problem of the antiquated CD and it's inherent skipping while skimming across the lake.
Installation was easy, but they should have included the strap that supports the back and center of the unit. I was lucky to have one from a previous installation.
We shall see how it holds up this summer, and I will follow up if my opinion changes over the life of the unit.
